Employment help coming to Sauk

DIXON – A careers fair with more than 30 businesses will be Thursday.

The event will be from 3 to 7 p.m. in the west mall of Sauk Valley Community College, 173 state Route 2. Information will be provided on why education is important in a career, and what skills are necessary in different fields. A workshop is planned with details on what local employers look for and want in today’s workforce.

Those attending can bring resumes. Several businesses at the fair will collect applications to fill positions, including Nippon Sharyo, E.D. Etnyre, Frantz Manufacturing, Key Builders Construction, BorgWarner, and Crescent Electric Supply.

Door prizes, including Sauk credit hours and an Ipad will be given away.
