MOUNT MORRIS – Barbara K. Hanke, 71, of Mount Morris, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, with loved ones by her side.

Barbara was born Sept. 17, 1941, to Harvey and Maxine (White) Summers. She was the beloved wife of Earl Hanke Jr. of Mount Morris. They married on July 16, 1957. Barbara was a homemaker. She is fondly remembered for her zest for life and her love for her family. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and most of all, spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; her three children, Robert (Natalie) Hanke of Madison, Wis., Sheri (Ken) Diehl of Oregon, and Tom (Barb Vu) Hanke of Mount Morris; five grandchildren, Josi Fassler of Oregon, Bryan (Chelsey) Diehl of Byron, Brent and Tyler Hanke of Madison, and Kayla Hanke of Denver; two great-grandchildren, Macy Fassler of Oregon and Braelon Hanke of Dodgeville, Wis.; a brother, Marvin (Shari) Summers of Hartford, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A loving celebration of life will be from 1 to 4 p.m., with a tribute to her life from 1 to 2 p.m., April 28 at the Mount Morris Moose Lodge, 101 Moose Drive.
