MOUNT MORRIS – William B. Webster, 96, of Mount Morris, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He worked in the composing room at Kable Printing Company in Mount Morris, retiring in 1978.
Bill was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Wausau, Wis., the son of Charles and Minnie (Nystrom) Webster. He married Irene P. Priller on Aug. 10, 1940, in Mount Morris. He was in the Army during World War II, serving as a T-3 in the Philippine Islands in the South Pacific. He was a member of Disciples United Methodist Church in Mount Morris.
Survivors include his daughters, Margaret Webster of Ontario, Wis., and Elizabeth Webster of Highbridge, Wis.; son, Thomas W. Webster of Denver; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward C. Webster of Carlsbad, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Webster; and daughter, Mary Christine Webster.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Disciples United Methodist Church in Mount Morris, with the Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Morris. Finch Funeral Home in Mount Morris is handling arrangements.
Memorials have been established to Mount Morris Public Library and Disciples United Methodist Church.
