Scarletta to play at Champs Friday

STERLING – Scarletta, one of Billboard’s “Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2013,” will play Champs, 216 Locust St., on Friday.

The country/rock trio recently shot a video for their upcoming release, “Island Fever”, at locations throughout Nashville and Denver, and they also are fresh off their televised national anthem performance at the Daytona International Speedway.

Scarletta was the “Spotlight on the 615” blog’s artist of the week for the week of Jan. 9 and was chosen as a Billboard “615 Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2013.” CMA also chose them as a CMA Close Up “Who New to Watch in 2013.”

According to a news release from the band, Scarletta found its roots in Nashville when the violin/vocal talents of Nathan Stoops and guitar slinging vocalist Benji Harris met in a recording session. When the fierce vocals of Aubrey Collins were added to the mix, it proved to be the perfect concoction for this rising trio.

Shagwagon opens for the band at 9 p.m., and there’s no cover charge.

Find Champs on Facebook or call 815-626-6003 for more info on the show.
