STERLING – A man shot three to five rounds from the back of a car near Avenue I and West Seventh Street around 5:11 p.m. Sunday in what appears to be a gang-related drive-by, police said in a news release Monday.

No injuries were reported.

According to police, witnesses said the car stopped in the 700 block of Avenue I, the shooter fired three to five rounds at a rear yard to the east, were several people were, then the car took off northbound. No one was injured, the release said.

The shooter was in the back of a gray or light blue Lincoln Town Car with a dark landau top with an "S" on the rear pillar, the release said.

He was Hispanic, 5-foot-4, 140 to 150 pounds. He was sitting behind the driver, a heavyset Hispanic man with a bald or shaved head, Sterling Police Detective J.D. Sanders said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Whiteside County Crimestoppers at 815-625-7867 or the Sterling Police Department at 815-632-6640.
