LEE COUNTY

Monday

SEX ASSAULT CASE: Russell A. Frey, 36, of Dixon; charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault. Police say Frey had sex with a 12-year-old girl in late January and February 2012.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

Wednesday

BURGLARY CASE:Travis S. Broderick, 18, of Amboy; charged with four counts of burglary and one count of misdemeanor resisting arrest. Police say he and several others broke into a number of vehicles in Dixon in January. 

He also is charged with residential burglary and theft at an Amboy home, where police say money and jewelry were stolen in January.

On the docket: Status hearings in both cases.

BURGLARY CASE: Josephine Emmons, 18, of Big Rock; charged with residential burglary and theft. Police say Emmons and another person broke into an Amboy home and stole money and jewelry in January. 

On the docket: Preliminary hearing. 

Thursday

BURGLARY CASE: Ethan Seidel, 23, of Rock Falls; charged with burglary. Police say Seidel and two other men broke into Cash for Gold in Dixon on April 19 and stole a safe.

On the docket: Pretrial conference. 

HOME INVASION CASE: David A. Jones, 37, of Dixon; charged with home invasion and criminal trespass to a residence, both felonies, and misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon and criminal damage to property. 

Police say Jones went into a Dixon home through an unlocked window on July 28, found an ax, and chopped through a door after people inside had locked themselves in another room.

On the docket: Preliminary hearing.  

ROBBERY/BATTERY CASE: Samantha J. Thomas, 20, of Dixon; charged with robbery, aggravated robbery and aggravated battery.

Police say Thomas and three others battered a drug dealer and hit him with a car on Aug. 31.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

DOMESTIC BATTERY CASE: Moses D. Spears, 28, of Dixon; charged with aggravated domestic battery, felony and misdemeanor domestic battery, and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, also a misdemeanor. Police say Spears hit and choked his girlfriend on March 1, 2012, and when she tried to call police, he grabbed the phone away.

On the docket: Status hearing.

DRUG CASE: Raymond Kent Brown, 29, of Rockford; charged with two counts of criminal drug conspiracy, possession of heroin, delivery of heroin and delivery of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school. Police say Brown and two other men sold an informant about a gram of heroin on Jan. 24, 2012, in a private parking lot at Boyd Street and Hennepin Avenue, within 1,000 feet of Dixon High School.

WHITESIDE COUNTY

Tuesday

AGGRAVATED BATTERY CASE: Charles E. Gasso, 36, of Sterling; charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Police say Gasso fought with another man on Oct. 30, 2011,and cut him on the thigh with a box cutter. A third man who tried to break up the fight was cut in the head, police said.

On the docket: Jury trial.

Thursday

MOB ACTION/AGGRAVATED BATTERY CASE: Mark A. Chavez, 29, of Sterling; charged with a aggravated battery in a public place and mob action, both felonies, and criminal damage to property over $500, a misdemeanor.

Police say Chavez was involved in a March 19 fight in Rock Falls that resulted in a stabbing.

On the docket: Preliminary hearing.

MARIJUANA CASE – Leslie B. Gibson, 46, of Sterling, charged with felony possession of more than 500 grams of marijuana; and production of fewer than five plants and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

Police say Gibson had 546 grams worth $7,800 in his home when they searched it on June 26.
