Chris Gehlbach (left) and Gloria Nusbaum hang a painting by Freeport artist Judi Snyder Thursday afternoon, in preparation for Tuesday's opening of the 66th annual Phidian Art Show. Artists from around the region have submitted works for the exhibit, which begins with a public reception at Loveland Community House, 513 W. Second St. in Dixon. Doors open at 6 p.m.; there will be People’s Choice voting, followed by the Judge’s Critique and award presentations at 7 p.m. The exhibit ends April 30. The Phidian Art Club was founded in 1890 to promote the arts in the form of visual art, literature, and music. The first Phidian Art Show was held in 1947.
