MOUNT MORRIS – Pinecrest Community has been awarded a $10,000 grant by the Dr. Louis and Violet Rubin Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.

The money will be used for its “Pinecrest Pathways: Beds” program, to purchase a portion of 100 new beds.

This is the second grant for the Pathways program approved by the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Replacing the old beds is a key component of the program, launched in 2012. The Pathways program also includes addressing the physical, occupational, and speech therapy aspects of residents’ health.

The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is the area’s largest provider of grants and scholarships. The foundation’s mission is to attract, grow, and preserve an endowment for the needs of the people of Northern Illinois.
