ROCK FALLS – John J. Wiebenga, 81, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He farmed in the Thomson and Morrison areas, retiring in 1995.

John was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Fulton, the son of Jordan D. and Sarah (Hoogheim) Wiebenga. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Alberta J. Gladhill on Jan. 1, 1954, in Clinton, Iowa. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Deb (Dave) Zink of Rock Falls, Lori (Steve) Benson of Morrison, and Vicky (Stu) Stewart of Mulberry; one son, Randy (Kathie) Wiebenga of Port Byron; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Annette Wiebenga and Hazel Maring; and two brothers, David Wiebenga and Jerry Wiebenga.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, with Ken Renkes, director of congregational care at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

Memorials have been established to Hospice of the Rock River Valley and Ebenezer Reformed Church.
