DIXON – A hearing for Tiffany D. Fassler, accused of causing the death of her 7-year-old stepson, was rescheduled Wednesday for May 15.

She is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, which carries 20 to 60 years in prison, and four counts of aggravated battery to a child.

Prosecutors say Fassler, 37, of Dixon, kicked Colton Fassler in the chest on Dec. 30, 2010, causing him to hit his head on a metal vanity and resulting in serious brain damage.

Colton died Nov. 11, 2011 from his injuries. In August, a Winnebago County coroner’s jury ruled his death a homicide.

Fassler pleaded not guilty Oct. 3 and is free on $200,000 bond.
