EAST PEORIA – Viola C. “Vickie” Dew, 85, of Peoria, formerly of East Peoria and East Moline, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria. She was a registered nurse for several years.

She was born April 2, 1927, in Chicago, to Rudolph and Elsa Knecht Radke. She married Robert Edwin “Ed” Dew on April 1, 1951, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2006. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria.

Survivors include one daughter, Catherine “Cathy” Heinle of Germantown Hills; two sons, David (Linda) Dew of Lake Villa and Paul (Gina) Dew of Downs; and seven grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Patricia and Michael, both in infancy; one brother; and one sister.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and the memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, with the Rev. Mike Shirey, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial will be at a later date at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is handling arrangements.  

Memorials have been established to American Cancer Society, Proctor Endowment Home, and Northminster Presbyterian Church.
