Russell A. ‘Russ’ Hayes

DIXON – Russell A. “Russ” Hayes, 91, of Dixon, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Heritage Square Health Center in Dixon. He had taught at Dixon High School for 35 years before retiring.

He was born May 30, 1921, in Neenah, Wis., the son of Otis and Dorothy (Ludemann) Hayes. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. He married Margaret Youngchild on Aug. 3, 1944, in Nekoosa, Wis.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mary (Gerald) Taylor and Kaye (Jim) King, both of Dixon, Peggy (Dennis) Salyer of Lawrence, Kan., and Linda Hayes of Pahrump, Nev.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday and the memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Michael Morrissey officiating. Jones Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
