STERLING – Auction items are being accepted for a May 4 benefit to help a former Sterling resident fight kidney disease.

Timothy Strohmayer, 37, son of Thomas Strohmayer and Margaret Strohmayer, both of Morrison, has lived in Florida for 6 years. He was diagnosed in January 2011 with double kidney failure, and is undergoing dialysis in Daytona Beach, waiting for a match for a transplant.

In the meantime, he can’t work, said Logan Fuller of Nelson, his sister-in-law.

The fundraiser will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the Sterling Moose Lodge, 2601 E. Lincolnway. Silent auction items already donated include a small grill and coupons for pizza.

There also will be a 50/50 drawing, a deejay and a bake sale. Call 815-508-9811 to donate items or for more information.
