When Joan Rosenberg was failing in health and could no longer do all the work of the village clerk, Bob Logan asked me to assist. Out of respect for him and the support he promised, I took the job.
There is more to working as village clerk than I imagined, but Bob is willing to offer a tip, solve a problem, and give a knowing answer when I have a question.
I have never seen the time he came to a board meeting unprepared to do village business or to deal with the surprises that come from board members or the public. He is cool under pressure and never holds a grudge. He’s loyal almost to a fault when people bring accusations against the board or village employees.
Bob respects board members and treats visitors to our meetings with dignity. He expects a lot from everyone. Because he is willing to go the extra mile himself, we are all better for it. He’s kind of like “Old Faithful”: always there, always does what’s expected of him.
His experience, knowledge, abilities, and concern for what is good for Franklin Grove have earned my vote, and I hope yours, too.
