Vote Bushman for roads chief

Published: Saturday, April 6, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

I’d like to voice my support for Jim Bushman for Palmyra Township road commissioner because he’s the most qualified individual and has the experience necessary to serve the township well.

I observe daily the job Jim has done and am proud to say, under Jim’s direction and leadership, Palmyra Township has been one of the bright spots in our area for road management.

When Jim was first elected, he promised to improve roads, reconstruct many streets and roads, identify areas needing improvement, and spur development throughout the township. He and his township employees, under Jim’s direction, work hard at what they do best: listening to and addressing the needs of the residents and those who travel the roads he’s charged with maintaining.

Jim Bushman says what he does and does what he says he’s going to do; you can always count on Jim.

I encourage everyone in Palmyra Township to exercise their privilege to vote and to re-elect Jim Bushman as Palmyra Township road commissioner.

Voting for Jim means keeping a man committed to continually improving the quality representation he has brought to the township and someone who is committed to continuing the progress the township has enjoyed under his leadership.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
