Stop the foolishness at city hall

Published: Wednesday, April 10, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

The people of Dixon should be “retreating” – not the mayor and city council. I’m trying to figure out why the mayor and his round table need to spend $7,950 on a 2-day retreat, and that’s just the first session.

I have also heard they take their families along and go to a park to learn the job they went to school and college for. Aren’t they supposed to be the cream of the crop?

It doesn’t surprise me they are, once again, spending taxpayers’ money on stupid stuff. Why can’t they do it in city hall? It’s already paid for by the taxpayers. I know why – so they can go, hide, and have a glorious time on money that’s not theirs.

It’s time to put a stop to the foolishness. Right now my focus, if I lived in Dixon, would be to find out who’s running against Mayor Burke and support him 100 percent. After all this mess, I’d want to wipe the slate clean with the exception of a few people.

People of Dixon, you need to get out and vote “no” to the old way and “yes” to a cleaner-run city hall.
