Retain Logan as village leader

Published: Saturday, April 6, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

Dear Franklin Grove residents:

I have been involved in village government for more than 30 years, and I don’t always agree with Bob Logan as I sit in village board meetings. Even when he disagrees, though, he’s always respectful. When we vote on April 9, I ask you to re-elect Bob as our mayor/village president.

I agree with his efforts to keep property taxes down and to keep the village on good financial footing. He worked to get the lowest electricity prices for Franklin Grove, and we have the best prices in the area.

Mayor Logan does a good job of keeping the peace when there are disagreements at meetings, something we may need after the election. I was in line to take Bob’s place if he went to the county board, but when he asked, I agreed that he should stay because we still needed him as our mayor.

Bob has always made the mayor’s job priority No. 1, and he’s available when he’s needed for questions or decisions. He is more knowledgeable about village business than anyone else. He always comes to board meetings prepared.

I ask that you vote with me to keep Bob Logan as our mayor.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
