LaSALLE – William D. Fowler, 92, of LaSalle, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

He worked for Heico Engineering in Mendota for 30 years until his retirement in 1982, and was an Army veteran.

He was born April 3, 1920, in Decatur, the son of William and Iola (Burdock) Fowler. He married Helen Albers on Nov. 5, 1955, in Amboy. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2004.

Survivors include three daughters, Carla Blackburn and Waynette (Jim) Rodriguez, both of Dixon, and Donna (Merlin) Bachman of Lee Center; three grandsons, Tracey Blackburn of Dixon, Lamont Johnson of Franklin Grove, and Maceo Johnson of Montana; three granddaughters, Meegan Sullivan of Palm Springs, Calif., Melissa (Dustin Thompson) Sullivan of Rochelle, and Kelly Sullivan of Dixon; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Pfoutz of Dixon; three nieces, Caroline (Delany) Dunphy of London Mills, Nancy Ackerson of Vaughn, Mont., and Jan Hanneman of Arizona; and one nephew, Tom Schauer of Nebraska.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters; one brother and one nephew.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center, with the Rev. Charles Jeanblanc officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the Amboy American Legion.
