HARMON – Genevieve M. Devine, 88, of Harmon, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society Prophets Riverview.

Genevieve was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Hanaman Township, the daughter of Edward and Blanche (Scully) Egan. She was a graduate of Community Catholic High School. She was united in marriage to Eugene Devine on Nov. 23, 1944. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1994.

She was a homemaker who took an active role in the farming operation. She was a member of St. Flannen’s Church in Harmon, where she sang in the choir and held office in the Altar & Rosary Society for many years.

She is survived by three sons, Edward (Debbie) Devine of New Lenox; Steven (Moneta) Devine of Oregon; and Mark (Ann) Devine of Geneva; daughter, Diana (Carl) Wade of Sterling; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Miller of Dixon; a brother, Roland Egan of Deer Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Teresa Jane Egan.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a scripture service at 4:30 p.m., at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tampico with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tampico.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
