Vote Wescott for mayor

Published: Tuesday, April 2, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

I lived in Rock Falls most of my life. I’ve known Bill Wescott the majority of that time. I’ve also worked with him for many years in serving our community in various endeavors. Bill is [not only] compassionate, he appreciates and respects those he works with.

Bill’s professional life has revolved around serving other people. After high school, he joined the military and served our country. Upon returning home, he started an ambulance service. He served CGH and KSB hospitals (and the many people he cared for) with his medical knowledge. He has served as Rock Falls city clerk professionally and with respect for those he works with.

Bill’s personal life has been devoted to supporting our youth and community through Rock Falls Little League, Rock Falls High School Athletic Boosters, his church, and numerous other groups who have needed help over the years.

As long as I’ve known Bill, his path through life has been to become mayor of Rock Falls. He believes in our youth, the strength of our community, our town, and the vision that will take us into the future.

Please consider all of those things and vote for Bill Wescott.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
