ROCK FALLS – Sterling Police continued Friday to withhold the names of victims in a stabbing that occurred nearly 2 weeks ago in Rock Falls.

No arrests had been made by Friday, and police said they continued to investigate.

According to police:

Two calls were made to 911 around 1:16 a.m. March 18 to report a fight in the 300 block of West 15th Street. Officers responding found a 28-year-old Sterling man, with injuries on his face, who said he had been attacked by three men. He was taken to CGH Medical Center, treated, and released.

About 10 minutes later, a 46-year-old man called 911 from a home in rural Rock Falls to report he had been stabbed in the fight. He was taken to CGH, then flown to St. Anthony.

Police have said they believe the men were injured in the same incident, although the Sterling man’s injuries were not inflicted by a knife or any weapon.

Anyone with information may call the Sterling Police Department at 815-632-6640 or the anonymous reward hotline, Whiteside County Crime Stoppers, at 815-625-7867.
