Coach's outlook: Our goal is to have a good time and develop a passion for running.

Amboy Clippers

Coach's outlook: Very young, but I believe strongly in several field events, and I believe we will have competitive relay teams.

Bureau Valley Storm

Coach's outlook: The outdoor season will consist of identifying key relay positions and individual events. Several open meets in April will create team competitiveness in solidifying conference and sectional lineups.

Erie-Prophetstown Panthers

Coach: Don Robinson (36th season)

Coach's outlook: We have 36 girls that are working hard to keep the strong track tradition going at Erie-Prophetstown. We hope to be in the running for conference and sectional titles, and qualify as many people as possible for the state meet, where we hope to surprise some people.

Fulton Steamers

Coach: Tim Wessels (1st season)

Coach's outlook: We look to have some strong performances in the field events and in the distance runs. We should also be capable of placing in many of the sprints and hurdles. Our lack of depth will limit our ability to put together relay teams, but there is potential there for placing. Individually, we have four or five athletes that have the potential to qualify for state.

Milledgeville-Eastland Missiles

Coach: Jason Wroble (3rd season)

Key returners: Seniors – Kim Johnson (hurdles, triple jump), Peyton Sturtevant (hurdles), Sarah Leif (sprints); Junior – Miranda Grisham (jumps, sprints)

Coach's outlook: A small girls team will leave a lot of events empty, but the team should compete strongly in the events we can fill.

Coach's outlook: We are down to nine girls this season. Although we won't be able to win meets with our numbers so small, we have the possibility of getting a few girls to state in individual events.

Newman Comets

Coach's outlook: The Comets are very young, but have lots of enthusiasm, and will be looking to improve as the season progresses.

Coach's outlook: Our team is strong once again this year. We have had a hard start to the season with the weather, but we are making due, and having fun running in the snow. I know with heart and dedication, we will have a busload going to state this year.

Polo-Forreston Marcos

Coach's outlook: Depth of team is good, as we have 42 girls out for track. Middle-distance events should be strength of team. Field events should be competitive.

Coach: Chris Lacy (9th season)

Coach's outlook: We should be solid in the relays and have decent depth to cover the track from 100-3,200. Our goals are the same year-in and year-out – we look to compete for a conference title, qualify all the relays for state, and medal at state in each. The kids have worked extremely hard the past 2 months and are looking forward to the outdoor season to see where we are.

Sterling Golden Warriors
