This season’s highlights:

n Oct. 12 , Dixon High School: Sixth Floor Trio, a chamber group dedicated to the creation and performance of music that connects different musical styles, communities, and artistic disciplines. From bluegrass to klezmer, classical to jazz, ancient music to contemporary rock – the trio explores it all and brings the music’s energy to the world.

n Nov. 5, Sterling High School Centennial Auditorium: With astonishing virtuosity and delightful artistic innovation, Trio Voronezh has the ability to alter the way audiences experience classical, folk and contemporary repertoire. Discovered playing Bach in a Frankfurt, Germany subway station, Trio Voronezh has since made several tours of the United States, playing traditional Russian folk instruments.

n Feb. 27, Historic Dixon Theatre: The National Lutheran Choir is a 60-plus mixed voice chorus based in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. Members include singers from various college choirs. The program will consist of classical, sacred, spirituals, and a few very lively gospel songs.

n April 10, Centennial Auditorium: The Abrams Brothers, John, James and cousin Elijah, skillfully combine the music of their roots with their own distinct sound – a combination of bluegrass, country and folk rock. They are fourth-generation musicians (guitar, violin, bass) with musical roots reaching back to their great-grandparents.
