Stocking Centennial Park pond with trout

Around 1,800 pounds of trout were dropped into the pond. Anglers are reminded that to legally fish for trout they need a valid Illinois license and an inland trout stamp.

Workers from Crystal Lake Fisheries in Ava, Mo. stock the first load of trout in Centennial Park pond Tuesday morning. Anglers may not take trout from any of the stocked sites until the opening of the season at 5 a.m. April 6. Anyone attempting to take trout before the legal opening will be issued citations.
