Man gets 80 years for killing FBI informant

MARKHAM (AP) — A suburban Chicago man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for killing an FBI informant sent to buy guns and grenades from him in an undercover sting operation in 2006.

Jerry Henderson of south suburban Alsip was found guilty in January of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Timothy Forrest. The Southtown Star reports (http://bit.ly/ZUPJEv ) that he was sentenced Tuesday.

Prosecutors say that as part of the sting, Forrest had been given $15,000 and a recording device to wear.

FBI agents watched Henderson get into the informant's car during their meeting in a Dolton parking lot and then leave in his own vehicle.

Prosecutors say the agents found the informant in the car with two gunshot wounds to the head and the $15,000 missing.
