Area businesses helping family of late Jefferson School teacher

Hundreds met at Challand Middle School near Jessica Strader's home, with signs and balloons, to show their support on Sunday, Feb. 17. Area businesses are taking part Saturday in the first Team Jess Day, raising money for the family of teacher Jessica Strader. Strader was 29 when she died Feb. 17. She had been a special education teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in Sterling, and fought cancer since February 2010.

STERLING – Area businesses are taking part Saturday in the first Team Jess Day, raising money for the family of teacher Jessica Strader.

Strader was 29 when she died Feb. 17. She had been a special education teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in Sterling, and fought cancer since February 2010.

Customers should check the businesses’ Facebook pages for more details. Those taking part, all but one in Sterling, are:
