Give bars and entertainment greater appeal

With the approval from the Sterling City Council for the Light Street, and the objections from Orrie Peterson about it, my suggestion to Orrie would be to look at your property. Figure out what you could do to the outside to make it more attractive and would allow similar activities in your back half, and send them a proposal as Mr. Strader did. As long as it is feasible, the city council should approve it.

Sterling’s No. 1 attraction, especially on the weekends for someone from out of town, is our bars and entertainment. I don’t think we should wait any longer to redevelop those areas, as they would be cheaper to redevelop on a small term and make the city look brighter.

I think people would come shop some of the area shops before they top off the night with a stroll through our bar venue. Just an idea. Sounds funny to some to make bars look nice and fancy, but it could be a good attraction.
