Miriam F. Siefken

MORRISON – Miriam F. Siefken, 89, of Morrison, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her home.

Miriam was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of James LeRoy and Alta Lavina (Wenger) McCluskey. She was educated in the Morrison schools and attended Morrison High School. She married Raymond A. Siefken on Nov. 22, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death April 4, 1985.

Miriam was employed by the Whiteside News Sentinel in Morrison and was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Roger Siefken of Torrance, Calif., Jim Siefken (Debbie Paul) of Gurnee, David (Kathy) Siefken of Cabin John, Md., and Bob (Marcella) Siefken of Bishop, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James McCluskey and Wayne McCluskey; and her great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morrison United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dan Schenck, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morrison United Methodist Church.
