STERLING – Dorothy Wolfe Rogers, 92, of Sterling, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling.

She was born June 4, 1920, the daughter of Susanna (Stephenson) and Elwood Wolfe in Chester, Pa., where she lived for the first 80 years of her life. She married Raymond Rogers Sr. on Nov. 29, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1998. Together, they had two children, Raymond Rogers Jr. (deceased) and Suzanne (Ray) Tkach of Sterling. She was employed by Rogers Clothing Store in Chester before retiring.

She was an avid walker. She could be seen walking daily with her walker, while she lived at Cornerstone Apartments, before her move in September to Coventry.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; and two granddaughters, Debbie Tkach and her daughter, Abby Parker Tkach, both of Davenport, Iowa, and Cindy (Charlie) Whiteman and their children, Kate, Ryan, and Ellie, all of Geneseo. She also is survived by two nieces and two nephews.

Dorothy also was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Adams Ponci McGraw; a brother, Elwood Wolfe; and her parents.

Private burial will be at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pa. McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
