DOMESTIC BATTERY/BATTERY/DAMAGE TO PROPERTY CASES: Andrew C. Fassler, 41, of Dixon; charged with aggravated domestic battery. Police say that on Oct. 1, 2009, Fassler threw his then 9-year-old son down stairs and broke his arm. Fassler also is charged with criminal damage to property and battery, both misdemeanors. Police say on May 9, 2011, Fassler fought with a man in front of his house, took a camera off the man’s neck, and threw it into a wooded area.

On the docket: Pretrial conferences in both cases.

ARMED ROBBERY CASE: Donte Myles, 26, of Chicago; charged with armed robbery. Police say Myles robbed a woman at knifepoint April 2 and took about $2,300. 

On the docket: Motion hearing.

OGLE COUNTY

Today

HEROIN CASE: Holly E. Sheley, 34, of Oregon; charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Police say Sheley sold about $20 worth of heroin to an informant on Aug. 17.

WHITESIDE COUNTY

Wednesday

BATTERY TO A CHILD CASE: Marcus J. Dewey, 21, of Franklin Grove; charged with aggravated battery to a child. Police say Dewey severely injured a child younger than 13 on Oct. 16. 2011.

On the docket: Pretrial hearing.

THEFT CASE: Bonnie A. Dittmar, 42, of Sterling; charged with theft of more than $100,000 and nine counts of forgery. Police say she took $$111,102.99 from Waugh Foods Inc. of East Peoria between March 2006 and May 2009 while she was selling products to local restaurants.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

THEFT CASE: Jackie G. Ferguson, 35, of Tampico; charged with theft and damage to property. Police say Ferguson had in her possession copper wiring that had been stolen from a Sterling business in August.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

SEX ASSAULT CASE: Richard M. Fonder, 26, of Sterling; charged with criminal sexual assault. A 20-year-old woman told police on Nov. 25 that Fonder had assaulted her during a party. 

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY CASE: Charles E. Gasso, 36, of Sterling; charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Police say Gasso fought with a man on Oct. 30, 2011, and cut him on the thigh with a box-cutter, and a third man, who tried to break up the fight, was cut in the head.

On the docket: Pretrial conference. 

THEFT CASE: Terry G. Gibbs, 35, of Rock Falls, and Steven K. Argraves, 40, of Sterling; charged with burglary. Gibbs also is charged with theft. Police say the two stole scrap metal from a rural Sterling business on Jan. 22. 

On the docket: Pretrial hearing for both.

TRESPASS TO A RESIDENCE CASE: Dealon J. Gonzales, 34, of Rock Falls; charged with criminal trespass to a residence and misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and theft of less than $500.

Police say Gonzales kicked his way into a Sterling home on Sept. 16 and stole a cellphone and a debit card. 

On the docket: Pretrial hearing.

SEX ABUSE CASE: Brent A. Grove, 28, of Sterling; charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Police say Grove sexually abused two children younger than 13 in May and June.

On the docket: Jury pretrial.

FORGERY CASE: Iowans Jimmie D. Martin, 40, of Bettendorf, and Jeffrey K. Morris, 46, of Davenport; charged with six counts each of burglary and forgery. Co-defendant Vauncile M. Ruby, 46, of Davenport, is charged with five counts each of burglary and forgery and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Police say the three passed counterfeit $20 bills at various stores in Sterling in January.

On the docket: Pretrial conference for all three.

STOLEN CAR CASE: Christopher C. Osborn, 22, no permanent home; charged with aggravated possession of a stolen vehicle, misdemeanor marijuana possession, driving with a suspended license, and speeding. 

Police say Osborn stole a 1993 Pontiac Firebird Aug. 17 in Sterling. The next day, an officer spotted Osborn in the car and tried to pull him over when Osborn drove off and led the officer on a short chase, police say.

RAPE/HOME INVASION CASE: David J. Reese, 27, of Rock Falls; charged with home invasion, armed robbery, and aggravated criminal sexual assault. Police say Reese pushed his way into a Rock Falls woman’s home on May 31 and demanded money before raping her.

On the docket: Pretrial conference. 

BURGLARY CASE: Stephen M. Sato, 33, of Chicago; charged with two counts of burglary. Police say he and another person burglarized Dollar General stores in Fulton and Morrison in December and January.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

Thursday

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY/TRESPASSING CASE: Erik J. Morales, 27, of Sterling; charged with criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to a residence. Police say Morales, who was intoxicated, broke into a Sterling home in the 100 block East Eighth Street on Dec. 4, 2011, and was confronted by the homeowner.
