DIXON – Robert James “Bob” Papucci, 66, of Dixon, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria. He worked as a designer and electrical engineer, retiring in 2005.

Bob was born Aug. 7, 1946, in Chicago, the son of Santino and Lena (Cincinelli) Papucci. He married Jeannette Udrow on April 1, 1967, in Chicago. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and working on home improvement projects. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. For the past 7 years, Bob took pride in working as a greeter at the Dixon Walmart, a job which he greatly enjoyed. Though he now is gone from us, Bob’s legacy lives on in the many lives he saved by participating in the Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donation Network.

Survivors include his wife of Dixon; two daughters, Kim (Jim) Skerney of Rockford and Jackie (Todd) Troutman of Dixon; two brothers, Norman (Lena) Papucci of Inverness and Denis (Joann) Papucci of Des Plaines; his brother-in-law, Kevin Udrow of Chicago; his sister-in-law, Maureen (David) Seng of Chicago; eight grandchildren, Vanessa, Kevin, Dan, Nathan, Ryan, Taylor, Kendall, and Chase; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
