It's official: Both sides ink new teachers contract
DIXON — Just 24 hours after teachers ratified a new collective bargaining agreement, the school board vote unanimously tonight to finalize it.
Members of the Dixon Education Association negotiating team, along with Board President Tom Balser and board member Kevin Sward, signed the 4-year agreement that calls for pay increases in each of the next 4 years, teachers paying more in health insurance and the expiration of a retirement bonus the day before the contract expires.
A standing ovation from those in attendance at Reagan Middle School, mostly teachers, followed.
