DIXON – Four unions representing city employees will start negotiations with the City Council next week, City Engineer Shawn Ortgiesen said.

Meeting Monday morning are the Dixon Firefighters Association, representing 10 firefighters; Teamsters Local 722, representing 10 street department employees; and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 196 representing nine water department employees.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday with the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, which has 26 members.

Each of the four unions agreed to put off negotiations for a year and received a 3 percent salary increase. Those agreements expire April 30.
