STERLING – Vernabelle J. Klosterman, 86, of Sterling, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at her home.

Vernabelle was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Fulton, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Buikema) Pyse. She was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 35 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sterling.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy J. (Gilbert D.) Phillips, and one son, Donald H. Klosterman Jr., both of Sterling; two sisters, Phyllis Sipperly of Rock Falls and Marilyn Malanger of DeWitt, Iowa; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Reformed Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Gary DeKoekkoek officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
