Teacher charged with unauthorized videotaping

DUNLAP (AP) — A teacher at Dunlap High School in Peoria County has been arrested after allegedly using a cell phone to illegally videotape someone in a faculty bathroom.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports (http://tinyurl.com/d9bhno6) that 52-year-old Guy Sandy was arrested Tuesday morning on a charge of unauthorized videotaping, and was in the county jail awaiting a bond hearing.

The county Sheriff's Department investigated after a staff member reported suspicious activity. Capt. David Briggs says the alleged taping occurred in a unisex faculty bathroom and authorities do not believe any students were targeted.

Sandy is the second Dunlap teacher arrested for illegal videotaping.

In January, Gordon Mills was sentenced to six months in jail and two years of probation after pleading guilty to placing an iPad on the floor to videotape students' undergarments.
