ROCK FALLS – Two men were wounded in an apparent knife fight early today, police said in a news release.

The injuries are not life-threatening, although one man was flown to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, the release said.

According to police:

Two callers called 911 around 1:16 a.m. reporting a fight in the 300 block of West 15th Street, where officers found a 28-year-old Sterling man who was cut in the face.

He said he was attacked by three men who then fled. He was taken to CGH Medical Center, treated and released.

About 10 minutes later, a 46-year-old man called 911 from a home in rural Rock Falls and said he had been stabbed in a fight. He was taken to CGH then flown to St. Anthony's. His condition was not available.

According to their preliminary investigation, the two men, whose names are not being released, were injured in the same fight, police said.
