STERLING – Plans are under way for a benefit for Mooseheart, a residential child care facility west of Chicago.

Youth whose families are unable to care for them have a home-like environment, education, and training.

The fundraiser will start at 11 a.m. April 6 at Sterling Moose Center’s open house at 2601 E. Lincolnway. Pork chop sandwiches, hamburger or hot dogs, chips, pop, and juice will be served at noon. The cost is $8 per plate, which includes one meat dish and the sides.

A bake sale, auction, DVD of Mooseheart and the retirement community of Moosehaven, and tours of the remodeled Moose Lodge will be part of the day.

Mooseheart High School girls will talk about life at Mooseheart at 2 p.m. The rest of the day’s schedule will be 4 p.m. Good Times Karaoke with Steve Kerber; 5 to 7 p.m. Women of the Moose Supper for $8; 6:30 p.m. Raisin Band; 7:30 p.m. Route 88 Band; and 8:30 p.m. Noyz Boyz Band.

The supper will be roast beef or baked chicken, mashed potato, gravy, corn, salad bar and dessert bar.
