Vote Unger for village president

Published: Monday, March 25, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

Greg Unger has served the residents of Mount Morris as a member of the village council for more than 22 years. Greg has held the offices of village president and trustee, gaining an in-depth, working knowledge of all aspects of village government and finances.

Greg has been involved in the environmental business for many years, learning to deal with the EPA on pollution issues and acquiring funding and grants. Greg has been successful in securing state and federal funding amounting to more than $13 million as non-repayment grants or at interest rates of 2 percent and lower.

Greg has kept the village budget in the black and balanced in all accounts during his past terms. Experience has been gained in all areas of village government, providing the knowledge to efficiently manage as village president.

Greg has worked hard to serve the community as a public official. I feel he has done many good things for Mount Morris and is well qualified to serve as village president again. Greg has organized and supports many working committees that are dedicated to bringing new life and a brighter future to Mount Morris.

I support and urge all to vote for Greg Unger as village president.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
