Recognizes facilities for skilled care

Published: Saturday, March 23, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

I would like to personally recognize the administrators of Coventry Village, Sterling Pavilion, Transitions, and Rock Falls Nursing and Rehab for providing compassionate and skilled care for their residents.

These administrators are dedicated to enriching the daily lives of residents at those facilities by providing leadership and guidance for staff of many disciplines.

I and all of the staff of Passages Hospice are proud to work with them to bring dignity and comfort to residents at the end of life. I have seen their dedication to our patients, and applaud them for their commitment to the hospice philosophy.

These administrators understand that hospice care provides specialized care for their residents at the end of life, and are a valuable resource to help families receive the care they need and deserve.

March 10-16 was Long Term Care Administrator’s Week, sponsored by the American College of Healthcare Administrators.

I encourage everyone to recognize these administrators for their exceptional work within their facility and in our community.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
