Group interpretation team to perform

STERLING – Sterling High School’s group interpretation team won the Illinois High School Association sectional competition for the 18th straight year Saturday in Rock Island.

The team, directed by Tim Schlegel and Jill McAleese Price, performed “The Homecoming of Samuel Lake,” beating out Kewanee High School and Auburn High School in Rockford.

SHS team members will give a free performance of “Homecoming” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Centennial Auditorium at the school, 1608 Fourth Ave.

The state competition is Friday and Saturday at the University of Illinois in Springfield.
