German art instruction to be given

MOUNT CARROLL – Heritage Arts Make and Take Workshop focuses on skills passed down from generation to generation.

The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 at the Naaman Diehl Auditorium, 811 S. Clay St., part of the Farm Bureau building.

Participants can take a session in the morning and a session in the afternoon. Session topics include needle tatting, cathedral quilting a pin cushion, corn husk rose making, cupcake decorating, purse making, and patriotic wreath making.

The art of Scherenschnitte, a German art of paper cutting, how to make lip balm and hand lotion or how to make a brooch pin out of hot glue. All ages are welcome.

Carol Chandler of Dixon will give an opening program on the Orphan Train. There is a $15 workshop cost plus additional class fees for each session by March 29. Early registration is encouraged.
