Tea party hosts visit by former congressman

Published: Thursday, March 21, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

Controversial, bombastic, brash, rude, principled, direct, passionate, argumentative.  Those are just a few of the terms that have been used to describe former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh. Love him or hate him, you have to admit, he gets your attention.

While Joe Walsh has been surrounded by controversy in his personal life, he has taken some strong stands in his short tenure in Congress. Walsh supported and sponsored legislation to protect the Second Amendment, restore election integrity, eliminate wasteful government programs, and balance the federal budget. Walsh has also earned a reputation for saying whatever is on his mind.

While most people don’t agree with everything he says, it is undeniable that he is great at starting passionate conversations.

Congressman Walsh will be the guest speaker at the March meeting of the Sauk Valley Tea Party at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rock Falls Eagles Club. Walsh will speak about the challenges we face as a nation, our fragile economy, and the competing visions for America’s future.

Our meetings are always open to the public, so please come out and join the conversation. For more information, please email us at SaukValleyTeaParty@live.com.
