Questions Rock Falls’ upgrades to utility office

The Rock Falls City Council is renovating the city’s utility office. On one day in the newspaper, it was $98,000, but then after the council meeting, it’s $125,000.

I can see some for the technology, but for security? Why does it need to be more friendly? And a “little bit safer”? From what? Bullet-proof glass? Even the bank tellers don’t have bullet-proof glass in the banks.

If the employees need to see who’s coming, replace the office door that has frosted glass with clear glass. Borrowing money for the garbage fund reserves, $50,000, and $75,000 from the electric reserves – wow.

If there’s so much in the funds, why the five different charges in the electric bill?

Why not give the Rock Falls citizens who use those electric and garbage items a break?

Better yet, use those reserves to fix the roads. At least a little bit would help.
