Lopez, 77, has been the township road commissioner for 12 years and has worked for the road division since 1969. His actual wages amounted to $43,666 last year. He also gets a $22,910-a-year pension as a result of his years of service before being elected commissioner.

Remembering back, and I could be wrong, here, but I think only one trustee voted against this project (Bill McGinn?). I sort of remember a packed house at the annual meeting in favor of this youth program. "Snooze, you loose." I do understand your angst, Ms. Norris, so don't misunderstand, but the public gets the government they deserve. I opposed the township expanding its mandate when it started under Barajas (I lived there, then). I believe SVM's township expose is remiss in not naming the elected trustees -- the township is NOT a one man show.
