STERLING – Luis M. Serrano Jr., 35, of Sterling, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

Luis was born April 15, 1977, in Mendota, the son of Luis Serrano Sr. and Grace (Rodriguez) Cid. 

Survivors include his parents of Sterling; two daughters, Celina Serrano and Teleah Serrano, both of Davenport, Iowa; one son, Eric Serrano of Davenport; two sisters, Veronica Serrano of Sterling and Maritza (Michael) Salmon of Marshall, Mo.; one brother, Enrique Briseno of Sterling; his maternal grandmother, Ciria Rodriguez of Sterling; and his paternal grandmother, Francisca Ambriz of Sterling.

He was preceded in death by both grandfathers, three uncles, and one aunt.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with the rosary recited at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling, with Rev. Juan Ayala officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
