Locate sports complex close to downtown

I don’t live in Dixon but do live in Lee County and am an almost daily money spender in Dixon (fast food junkie).

I continue to read almost daily in the Telegraph the desire of some to build a sports complex. Seems like a good idea if – and that’s a big if – it could be done at a reasonable cost. I continue to read where this proposed complex would be built in an area that seems to me not cost effective in any way. Roads, water, sewer, retention or detention areas; all utilities must be figured in the cost.

At the same time, I read about Dixon and the downtown businesses needing assistance. There are several parcels within walking distance of downtown, which, it seems to me, a real estate agent would be aware of, that possibly could be purchased to locate a sports complex that would be near the high school, riverfront, YMCA, downtown businesses, and almost all infrastructure.
