Early-morning deal brings end to 9-day strike
State aid will not be lost; 5 days will be made up
DIXON – Nine school days were lost to the teachers strike in Dixon.
Five of those missed days cost the school district state aid – the others were built-in days allowed for weather or emergencies. But in the end, no state money will be lost.
The teachers’ strike ended and classes resumed Wednesday after an agreement was reached about 1:40 a.m. between negotiators on a 4-year contract. The teachers union and the school board still must vote to approve the deal.
