Published: Saturday, March 23, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

DIXON – Dixon Rotary scholarship applications are due April 30.

The club normally awards two $2,500 scholarships.

To be eligible, graduating seniors must live in Dixon and attend Dixon High School, Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling, or Faith Christian School in Grand Detour, or be home schooled. They also must be enrolled as a full-time student at a college or university in the fall.

Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, essay response, school and community involvement, personal recommendations, and academic achievement.

Money must be applied to tuition, room and board fees, or textbooks and media for classes.

Scholarship payment is made in two installments during the recipient’s freshman year.

Awarded scholarships, applications, and the scholarship program are subject to further review by the Dixon Rotary Club at any time. Scholarships are non-renewable. A winner’s failure to complete course requirements may result in forfeited funds.

Applications are available at school guidance offices, at www.facebook.com/DixonRotaryClub or by contacting Krystie Jones at krystie@dixonautobody.com or 815-288-2722.
