Five new troopers join State Police

STERLING – Five new troopers joined Illinois State Police on Monday, the department said in a news release.

The troopers were among 56 cadets who graduated from the ISP academy on Friday. The new troopers completed a 25-week regimen of physical training and classroom instruction.

The new troopers are:

Richard Francis, from Chicago, a graduate of Saint Xavier University.

Jordan Jackson, from Kincaid, a graduate of Illinois State University. Jackson is a former correctional officer with Illinois Department of Corrections.

Michael Rudden, from Chicago, a graduate of Northern Illinois University.

Marcin Gasienica, from Justice, a graduate of Roosevelt University.

Jonathon Hase, from Fairfield, a graduate of Southern Illinois University. Hase is a former Wayne County deputy sheriff.

Hase will live in Lee County. The four others will live in Ogle County.

Probationary troopers also must participate in one-on-one mentoring with field training officers under a 14-week program, expanding their training to 39 weeks.
