Biblical truths continue to be a constant guide

Published: Tuesday, March 19, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

This letter is in response to the March 6 letter from Steven Lopez titled “Individuals free to make their own choices.” First of all, yes, we know that an acorn is not a tree. We also know that if a man does not want a tree in his yard, he will not plant the seed.

You stated in your letter that Charles Becker’s letter was full of “religious propaganda.” Are you calling the oldest book, the Bible, propaganda? This is the book where Charles and many others find the truth by which we are to conduct and live our lives. I believe you are misled by other sources of written propaganda that led you to be angry over the content of Charles’ letter.

When does a fetus become a baby, and when does a fetus have legal rights?

Interesting question, because the answer becomes another question for some people.

Do you want to have this baby? Does this baby fit into my life right now?

I believe a fetus becomes a baby at conception, and just 4 short weeks after conception, a baby’s heart begins to beat and circulate blood, and tiny facial features begin to develop. You have to love a great miracle.

You also stated in your letter that things change with time, and you are correct in that statement, but one thing is always constant, and that is the truth that is held in the writings of the Bible.

We do have freedom of choice and with that freedom comes consequences. What Charles Becker and many others are trying to do through their writing and prayer, is to lead people to God and the way that he wants us to live. God bless the unborn and the mothers who protect them.
